Man in custody after collisions with police and civilian vehicles in Port Coquitlam

A 29-year-old Maple Ridge man is facing charges after two collisions, including one with a police car, in Port Coquitlam.
Just before 11 a.m. on Wednesday, a Coquitlam RCMP general duty police investigator in a car attempted to pull over a vehicle as part of a traffic stop at the corner of Kingsway Avenue and the Mary Hill Bypass. Instead of pulling over, the driver reportedly caused a collision with the police car.
A short time later, another police car also attempted to pull over the suspect on Broadway Street near the Mary Hill Bypass. At that time, the suspect vehicle was involved in a collision with a civilian vehicle before the driver was taken into custody.
So far it appears that all injuries are minor, but Coquitlam RCMP’s Coordinated Collision Investigation Team is doing a full investigation into the circumstances of the collisions.
