Coquitlam man arrested in New Westminster break-and-enter

ON June 9 at approximately 9 p.m., the New Westminster Police Department received a call from a witness advising they had observed a male break the window of the Crystal Nails Spa in the Columbia Square Shopping Mall near 10 Street and Royal Avenue. The witness was able to provide police with details on the incident and a suspect description as well as a direction of travel.

Patrol officers rushed to the area and with some assistance from other witnesses nearby were able to quickly locate the suspect near the New Westminster Skytrain Station. The male was arrested and patrol officers were able to recover all of the stolen property.

Kyle Lansimaki, 39, of Coquitlam has been charged with break-and-enter.

“This arrest was made possible due to the observations of the witness on scene as well as other individuals in area,” said Sgt. Justine Thom. “Our patrol officers did excellent work in locating and arresting the person responsible.”
