Coquitlam RCMP looking for 2 men wanted in New Year’s Day assault

COQUITLAM RCMP are appealing to the public for assistance in locating two Coquitlam men involved in an assault that has left a 29-year-old man with serious injuries.

Frontline officers attended the area of Glen Drive and Johnston Street in Coquitlam for an assault on Sunday, January 1 at 2:47 a.m. The victim was changing a tire when he was attacked by two men. The men fled prior to police attendance.

The victim sustained serious, non-life-threatening injuries to his head. He was transported to hospital and has since been released.

Coquitlam RCMP Investigational Support Team has assumed conduct of the investigation. Victim Services has been engaged.

“This unprovoked assault occurred in a busy area during the New Years Eve festivities,” said Cpl. Alexa Hodgins. “Our investigators conducted a thorough investigation and quickly identified the suspects.”

On Friday, January 13, Evan Clairmont and Jacob Robinson were charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm.

A warrant has been issued for their arrest.

Evan Clairmont can be described as:

* White male
* 23 years old
* 6’2 tall
* Slim build
* Brown hair
* Blue eyes
Jacob Robinson can be described as:

* Black male
* 24 years old
* 5’9 tall
* Slim build
* Brown hair
* Brown eyes
“Police are asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of Jacob Robinson or Evan Clairmont to contact the Coquitlam RCMP,” said Hodgins. “If either Jacob or Evan are located by the public, please do not approach and contact 9-1-1 immediately.”
