Coquitlam RCMP seek potential additional victims and video after vehicles damaged

COQUITLAM RCMP are looking for video and witnesses or potential additional victims after multiple parked vehicles were damaged in the Maillardville neighbourhood in Coquitlam between 10 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 22.

Police responded to a report of a person damaging parked vehicles near Marmont Street and Charland Avenue. Officers quickly located and arrested a suspect.

It is believed the suspect travelled northbound from Brunette Avenue and Allard Street up to Marmont Street and Charland Avenue, where he was arrested. The exact route is unknown.

Police are asking residents to check their CCTV and dash cam for video recorded on August 22 between 9:30 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. for recordings of the suspect who is described as:

  • white male
  • 5 ft 10
  • 170 lbs
  • Dark beard
  • Wearing a red hat, green shirt, blue jeans and black runners

“We want to thank the concerned resident for calling Coquitlam RCMP as soon as they saw something suspicious. The report and information provided by the resident allowed our officers to quickly respond and locate the suspect,” said Staff-Sgt. Jolaine Percival.
