TWO Surrey teens are in custody after an early morning home invasion in south Langley on Thursday.
Shortly after 1:30 a.m., Langley RCMP was called to a residential property in southern Brookswood. The caller advised that unknown males had entered the home and stolen items from inside the home as well as their vehicle.
Officers observed the stolen vehicle fleeing the residence. Fortunately, Air One was in the area and followed the vehicle into Surrey where it came to a stop at the intersection of 168th Street and 92nd Avenue after two tires were deflated by a spike belt deployment.
Four persons exited the vehicle and ran. Lower Mainland Police Dog Services was able to establish a track and locate two of the suspects who were arrested and returned to Langley RCMP Detachment.
Items stolen from the residence were recovered in the vehicle and will be returned to the owner.
Police said they will recommend charges for the two Surrey youths, 16 and 17 years old. The investigation into the identity of the two outstanding suspects is ongoing.
