ON Wednesday, July 1 at approximately 9:48 p.m., Langley RCMP responded to reports of a man in distress near Park Avenue and Douglas Crescent in Langley. Upon arrival, police located a 75-year-old man suffering from serious injuries. The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

On July 9, the victim died from his injuries while in hospital. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was called in to investigate and continues to work in close partnership with the Langley RCMP Serious Crime Unit, the Integrated Forensic Identification Services (IFIS) and the BC Coroners Service.

IHIT is now identifying the victim as Larry Greig of Langley in hopes of furthering the investigation.

“Investigation to date suggests Mr. Greig became involved in a physical altercation shortly after leaving a licensed establishment,” says Sgt. Freda Fong of IHIT. “Homicide investigators are looking to speak with the following individuals who were in the area at the time of the offence and may have witnessed something important.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448), or by email at ihitinfo@rcmpgrc.gc.ca.
