Cycling Fundraiser Tour For Orphans: Organiser Has His Bike Stolen

Anas CheemaÈs fundraising bike tour of Canada came to an abrupt halt when his bicycle was stolen in Winnipeg.

Anas Cheema, an international student from Pakistan studying in British Columbia, was biking across Canada to raise funds for SOS Children’s Villages.

He started his journey in Victoria last month and was on his way to St. John’s, N.L.

Winnipeg police say his bike was stolen Wednesday night when it was left unattended in a north-end neighbourhood.

Police are asking for the public’s help to track down the bike which is dark blue and has “Napoli” written on the frame.

Cheema had raised $1,400 for the charity which provides long-term care for orphans and children in need.
