Delta Police: No offence in Wednesday’s burgundy vehicle incident

DELTA Police announced on Friday that they have located and spoken with the driver of the vehicle involved in the October 28 reported suspicious circumstance involving a burgundy vehicle.

The report concerned an interaction between a man associated to a burgundy car and a teenage girl. This came on the heels of an October 15 incident in which a teenage girl reported that a man driving a burgundy car exited his car and told her to come in the vehicle with him.

“Police officers have identified the driver and have interviewed both him and the teen who made the report on October 28,” said Cris Leykauf, spokesperson for Delta Police.

“Police have determined there was no wrongdoing in this instance, and no ill intent. No offence was committed,” she said. Furthermore, the driver from the October 28 incident does not match the description of the man from the earlier incident.

The man from the October 15 incident is described as white, in his 50s, with white hair cut short over the ears and longer on top. He was wearing brown baggy pants with a blue t-shirt at the time of the incident.

Police still have an active investigation into the October 15 incident. Anyone who may have information regarding this incident is asked to call the police non-emergency line at 604-946-4411.
