Emily Carr arson suspect pleads guilty

A Vancouver man pled guilty this week to criminal charges in relation to a serious arson in Vancouver last year, following an extensive Vancouver Police investigation.

Nathan Macleod, 41, pled guilty Wednesday to deliberately setting fire at Emily Carr University of Art and Design on October 5, 2019.

Vancouver Fire Rescue Services initially responded to the fire. Vancouver Police took over the investigation after it was determined the fire was suspicious. Macleod was arrested a few days after.

Sentencing will occur December or January.
