ON February 8 at about 7:30 a.m., Surrey RCMP was called to assist emergency services at 84th Avenue and King George Boulevard for a report of a collision between a vehicle and a transit bus.

Upon arrival it was learned that the driver of the vehicle had been travelling northbound on King George Boulevard and the transit bus was travelling southbound when the vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and struck the transit bus head on. The driver, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
