SURREY R.C.M.P. are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident.
Shortly after 5:20 p.m. on Saturday, police were advised that a pedestrian, who was crossing the street mid-intersection, had been struck by a car. The driver of the car remained on scene to assist with the investigation and was later transported to hospital with minor injuries.
The pedestrian was transported to hospital by ambulance where he later succumbed to his injuries. The northbound lanes of Scott Road, between 71st and 72nd avenues are currently affected with all traffic being diverted.
Initial investigation shows that speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the accident.
