ON Tuesday, November 8 at approximately 7 p.m., New Westminster Police patrol officers were called to the 300-block of East 8th Avenue for an unresponsive pedestrian involved in a collision with a transit bus. All the contributing factors of this incident are still under investigation, police said.
Investigators from the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service attended the scene as well as members from the New Westminster Police Department Victim Assistance Unit, Metro Vancouver Transit Police, and the BC Coroner’s Service.
“This is a tragic event and our thoughts are with the family of this individual,” said Sgt. Justine Thom. “We have a large team of investigators working together to determine how this happened, but we are still in the early stages at this point.”
