VANCOUVER Fire and Rescue Services said on Thursday that a female died in a fire on Wednesday night in the 1000-block of Marinaside Crescent in Yaletown. This is Vancouver’s first fire fatality of 2018.
Vancouver Fire found a single suite filled with thick smoke at about 11:30 p.m. and immediately upgraded the fire to a second alarm. The initial search teams located a dead female. The fire was contained to the suite.

After extensive evaluation of the evidence, fire investigators determined the fire to be accidental.
