Fraser Health brings COVID-19 vaccine to post-secondary school campuses

THIS fall, as post-secondary schools across the region begin to open for in-person learning, Fraser Health is ensuring COVID-19 vaccines are readily available at a number of post-secondary campuses, giving students and staff the opportunity to get fully vaccinated and protect themselves, their classmates and their loved ones from COVID-19.

Students and staff are invited to attend the on-campus clinics to receive their first or second dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Friends, family and members of the public who are 12 and older are also welcome to attend these clinics, including those who do not have personal health numbers and/or people who are not residents of B.C.

“We know the safety of our campuses increases when people are vaccinated,” said Anne Kang, Minister of Advanced Education and Skills Training. “These on-campus clinics make it easy and convenient to get the vaccine – make the choice to protect your community and play an active role in ensuring a safe return to school this fall.”

To be eligible for a second dose walk-in vaccine, you need to have received an invitation to book your second dose from the Provincial Get Vaccinated system, or be at least 28 days since your first dose. Bring your COVID-19 Immunization Record Card if you have it.

If the clinic is at capacity, you may be added to a virtual waiting list. If there is enough vaccine, you will be texted to come back later that day to get your second dose. If you do not receive a text, you should return to try again on another day.

Clinic dates, times, and locations can be found at fraserhealth.ca/vax.

With the school year starting, it is important to protect yourself from COVID-19 by following provincial public health guidance, including wearing a mask indoors, getting vaccinated, washing your hands, staying home when you are feeling unwell and getting tested if you have COVID-19 symptoms, even mild ones. Fraser Health encourages people to book COVID-19 tests using the online COVID-19 Test Booking Form.
