OVER 300 hundred people packed into Vikram Vij’s new South Surrey restaurant, My Shanti, for an exclusive event with Surrey Councillor Barinder Rasode Thursday night.
“I wanted to bring together young professionals, because they are the future of Surrey,” says Rasode. “It’s time for fresh ideas and a new way of doing things. I think by engaging and empowering young people, who have so much passion and enthusiasm, we can truly build an incredible city together. The energy in the room was palpable and I’m excited for what the future holds.”
Rasode adds that she’s very honoured Vij would host an event for her, because this was the first time he shut down one of his restaurants for a private function.
In his speech to the crowd, Vij introduced Rasode as the next mayor of Surrey and said the city is ready for her vision and leadership.
