IHIT called in for homicide of woman in Burnaby home

THE Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is investigating the homicide of an 18-year-old woman in a Burnaby home.   

On November 29, at 12:36 p.m., the Burnaby RCMP received a call for assistance at a residence in the 4100-block of Oxford Street. Officers arrived to find an 18-year-old woman with life-threatening injuries who was taken to hospital. The woman has since died of her injuries and IHIT is investigating.

One man was arrested in connection with the incident and has since been released from police custody pending further investigation. No criminal charges have been laid at this time.

“This was an isolated incident involving individuals known to one another,” said IHIT Sgt. Frank Jang.
