THE Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is seeking public assistance to further its investigation into the homicide of a young Langley girl.
On Sunday (July 22), at approximately 9:30 p.m., police and emergency health services responded to a call for assistance at a residence in the 20,000-block of 68 Avenue in Langley. When police arrived they found seven-year-old Aaliyah Rosa dead. A 36-year-old woman, who investigators believe was involved in this incident, remains in the care of medical staff.
Police confirm that this was an isolated incident between people known to each other and there is no risk to public safety.
“IHIT investigators are now looking to hear from anyone who may have seen Aaliyah in the Langley area on Sunday, July 22,” said IHIT Cpl. Frank Jang. “The family is urging the media to respect their privacy during this extremely difficult time.”
