PERFORMING for the first time in Vancouver, India and Croatia are set to take to the skies above Metro Vancouver Saturday, July 27 and Saturday, August 3 respectively, while fan favourite, Canada, returns Wednesday, July 31, at the Honda Celebration of Light that is the world’s longest running offshore fireworks competition.
“The Honda Celebration of Light is a terrific way for families and friends to spend time together while experiencing the sensational musical fireworks that set aglow Vancouver’s magnificent skyline,” said Lisa Beare, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture. “This world-class international festival offers an array of activities while generating positive social and economic returns for Vancouver and the people who live there.”

With an incredible lineup of participating countries and a host of wonderful activities for the public to enjoy, the fireworks will once again be a highlight for our city this summer,” said Kennedy Stewart, Mayor of Vancouver. “Celebrating 29 years in Vancouver, this popular summer festival is a wonderful platform to showcase our city on the world stage.”

“The Park Board is pleased to again support this premier summer event, which allows residents and visitors to experience stunning fireworks displays at our beaches and parks. Public safety and the well-being of spectators and West End residents is our top priority,” said Vancouver Park Board Chair Stuart Mackinnon. “As in past years, Park Board and City staff will clean up our beaches, parks and seawalls the morning after each firework show. We ask all visitors to our parks and beaches to use litter and recycling bins or to take their garbage home.”

Back again for all three days, the Park Stage at Second Beach is a free, family-friendly festival site featuring live music, food trucks, sponsor activations, and a site-wide liquor license. The event also welcomes back the Red Bull Air Show, a spectacular pre-show performance happening over all three festival nights. Returning this year, radio partner Z95.3 will be presenting Z-Fest on The Keg Lounge stage overlooking English Bay for three nights of music programming before the pyrotechnic displays.
