INDIAN media are reporting that notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s younger brother, Anmol, 25, has been detained in California by the US Immigration Department after it discovered that he had a forged travel document.
The Indian Express newspaper reported that it had learned that FBI official posted in New Delhi had met Indian security officials to discuss his deportation or extradition.
According to Indian media, the gang headed by Arshdeep Singh Gill alias Arsh Dalla, who was recently arrested in Ontario, has been involved in violent clashes in Canada with the gang led by Lawrence Bishnoi, who is currently in an Indian jail.
The Indian Express reported that a source had told them: “Anmol fled to the US on May 15, 2022 after making a fake passport in the name of one Bhanu. But he was exposed after the US Immigration Department found that one of the reference letters of a company, attached to his travel documents, was forged.”
Indian police have alleged that Anmol was involved in the murder of former Maharashtra state minister Baba Siddique and in the firing outside Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s residence in Mumbai.
India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) has announced a reward of Rs 1 million for information leading to the arrest of Anmol. A Red Corner Notice was issued for him in December 2022.
In 2023, he was photographed with famous Punjabi singers at a wedding in California.
In September, the Rajasthan state police said there were 31 cases, including 22 cases in Rajasthan, and nine arrest warrants against Anmol, the India Express reported.
