THE man charged following a multi-jurisdictional drug trafficking investigation led by the Chilliwack RCMP Priority Target Team (PTT) has been sentenced to 11.5 years in custody. 

In April, the Chilliwack RCMP PTT launched an investigation into a drug trafficking network operating in Chilliwack, Abbotsford, and Langley. The investigation, conducted with support from the Abbotsford Police Department, Langley RCMP, and the Integrated Emergency Response Team (IERT), led to the arrest of three individuals and the execution of search warrants at multiple locations on June 29.  Police seized significant amounts of suspected controlled substances, firearms, vehicles, and Canadian currency. 

On July 2, Tyler Missen of Langley was charged with multiple drug trafficking and firearms offences. Missen subsequently entered guilty pleas while in custody. 

On August 26, Missen was sentenced to 11.5 years, with approximately 10 years and 10 months remaining to be served.

“This sentence reflects the serious consequences associated with trafficking dangerous drugs and illegally possessing firearms,” said Cpl. Stephan Mendela of Chilliwack RCMP. “This investigation removed significant quantities of harmful drugs from our communities and demonstrates the impact of strong partnerships between law enforcement agencies.”

A forfeiture order will also be sought through the courts regarding property seized during the investigation that remains in the possession of Chilliwack RCMP.

Chilliwack RCMP thanked the Public Prosecution Service of Canada, the Abbotsford Police Department, Langley RCMP, and the IERT for their collaboration throughout this investigation. Their collective efforts were instrumental in bringing this matter before the courts and achieving this outcome.
