LIBERAL Party support has increased as the party advances in selecting a new leader, reaching 28%, an 8-point gain since early January, according to an Ipsos poll conducted between January 30 and February 3 on behalf of Global News.
This growth in Liberal backing has come partly at the expense of the Conservative Party, which has seen its support decrease to 41%, a 5-point drop.
Despite these shifts, the Conservatives remain well-positioned for a decisive victory if an election were held tomorrow. They continue to lead in all regions except Quebec, where the Bloc continues to lead, and across all key demographic groups.
The poll is accurate to within ± 3.8 percentage points, 19 times out of 20, had all Canadians aged 18+ been polled.
