THE latest Nanos federal ballot tracking (April 27) has the Liberals at 39.2 per cent support, followed by the Conservatives at 30.6 per cent, the NDP at 18.2 percent, the Bloc Quebecois at 4.4 per cent and the Greens at 5.9 per cent.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is way ahead of Conservative Party Leader Andrew Scheer when it comes to ‘Preferred Prime Minister.’ Trudeau is the preferred choice as Prime Minister at 39 per cent of Canadians, followed by Scheer at 22.5 per cent – a gap of 16.5 per cent.
NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh is the preferred choice as Prime Minister at 8.3 per cent and Green Party Leader Elizabeth May is the preferred choice at 5.7 per cent. Twenty-four per cent of Canadians were unsure about who they preferred.
More than half of Canadians (53.6%) believe Trudeau has the qualities of a good political leader while 39.9 per cent believe Scheer has the qualities of a good political leader – a gap of 13.7 per cent.
One in three (34.2%) say Jagmeet Singh has the qualities of a good political leader, while 33 per cent believe the same about May. One in five (18.8%) said BQ Leader Martine Ouellet has the qualities of a good political leader (Quebec only).
