SHORTLY before 1 a.m. on Sunday (May 27), Richmond RCMP responded to the 9000-block of Saunders Road for a report of gunshots.

Police located a male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound and quickly transported him to hospital.

The victim, a male in his 30s from Richmond, is well-known to Richmond RCMP.

“We are very concerned and disturbed by this recent act of violence in our community. We believe that the victim was deliberately targeted. Investigators from the Richmond RCMP Serious Crimes Unit are in the preliminary stages of their investigation,” said Cpl. Dennis Hwang on Monday.
