SURREY RCMP announced on Monday that a man has been arrested and charged with uttering threats. He remains in custody.

On July 6, police responded to a report of an incident which occurred last month on June 22 in the 13600-block of 18 Avenue. The victim reported that she was chased by a man who threatened to harm her physically. The victim was able to run away to safety. No contact was made between the suspect and the victim.

On July 7, Surrey RCMP frontline officers arrested a suspect after officers conducted their investigation. Ricki Randall Taysup, 36, is charged with one count of uttering threats and remains in custody pending his next court appearance.

Police said that as the matter is before the court, they will not be able to provide further information.
