Man arrested in Vancouver’s seventh homicide

VANCOUVER Police Department homicide detectives made an arrest in an early Sunday morning assault that claimed the life of 55-year-old Vancouver resident Dam Minh Huu.

Just before 1:30 a.m. on April 22, police and ambulance responded to Kingsway and Nanaimo streets for an injured man. The man was identified as Huu, and he was transported to hospital where he died.

Detectives arrested a 48-year-old Vancouver man for Huu’s murder and are continuing to piece the evidence together.

The evidence suggests that the two men, who knew each other, got into an argument on the street a few blocks from where Huu was located. The argument escalated resulting in the death of Huu.

Homicide detectives are not looking for any other suspects and do not believe the public is at risk.
