Man charged following three downtown assaults

A 45-year-old man remains in custody after allegedly committing three unprovoked spitting and punching assaults across the Downtown core on Thursday morning.

On September 10, between 9:50 a.m. and 12:55 p.m., police responded to multiple reports of an erratic man approaching pedestrians at random. Police were able to locate and arrest a man matching the description of the suspect minutes following the final reported incident.

Chronology of Incidents:

  • 9:50 a.m. (Seymour and Georgia Street): A suspect allegedly punched a man in the side of the face without provocation while walking on the sidewalk.
  • 10:00 a.m. (Davie and Granville Street): A suspect allegedly spat in a man’s face.
  • 12:55 p.m. (Georgia and Hamilton Street): A suspect allegedly spat in the face of another man.

Gregory Edwin Lawrence Brumwell, 45, has been charged with three counts of assault. He remains in custody.
