Man found guilty of sexual assault in 2022 Lynn Valley trail incident

NORTH Vancouver RCMP announced on Wednesday that Jairus-Paul Covacha Sacramento of Mission was on June 9 found guilty on one count of sexual assault following a North Vancouver Provincial Court trial in connection to the Lynn Valley trail incident of February 13, 2022. He will be sentenced at a later date.

Following a March 12, 2022 RCMP press release on the incident, a tip from a member of the public led to Sacramento’s arrest in Abbotsford.

“This was a traumatizing incident for the victim, and impacted the community’s sense of safety” said Constable Mansoor Sahak, Media Relations Officer. “We are grateful to the public for helping bring this case to a resolution, and reaffirm our commitment to keep this community safe from those who seek to victimize others.”
