Man injured in targeted shooting in Maple Ridge

ON Monday, September 23 at approximately 10:30 p.m., Ridge Meadows RCMP responded to reports of a male in distress outside a residence in the area of 20700 Camwood Avenue in Maple Ridge.

Police attended the scene and observed that the male had been bear-sprayed and sustained additional superficial injuries.

Further investigation led members to a residence in the 11800-block of 207 Avenue where they located a victim of a shooting.

Members administered first aid until BC Emergency Health Services (BC EHS) arrived. The injuries were non-life-threatening and the victim was released later the same day.

Police believe this to be a targeted shooting and there is no threat to public safety.

This is an active and ongoing investigation and no further information is available at this time, police said.
