Man who raped 11-year-old girl in Kelowna park sentenced to 42 months in prison

A 28-year-old Vernon man has been sentenced to 42 months in prison for online and other sex crimes with young girls.

The Crown and defence had called for a two-year sentence, plus probation for Connor Dee.

He pleaded guilty to 13 charges including extortion and possession of child porn involving five Okanagan girls between 11 and 17 years old.

One victim, who was 11, was lured to a Kelowna park where Dee raped her and took pictures.

The sentence means Dee will serve another two years in prison after 18 months credit for time served, and three years probation.

After he has served his time, Dee will be banned from using the Internet and cell phone and from being in areas where children under 16 are present.
