SHORTLY after 1 a.m. on Sunday, April 7, Delta Police received a request for assistance from the Delta Fire Department in relation to a fire at a lumber mill in the 9300-block of Alaska Way.

Police officers provided security while the firefighters extinguished the fire. Delta Police officers have remained on scene for security and to investigate the cause of the fire.

There were no injuries from the fire.

The investigation is still in its early stages and the cause of the fire has yet to be determined.  Arson investigators will remain on scene for a lengthy period to continue their investigation, police said.
