Oakville Councillor Sandhu, Halton/Peel Multicultural Seniors’ Association donate winter warmth bags

ONTARIO’S Oakville Local Ward 7 Councillor, Jasvinder Sandhu, in association with the Halton/Peel Multicultural Seniors’ Association donated over 50 bags of “winter warmth” to SafetyNet Charities on Speers Road.

“These bags are an outpouring of support and love from local seniors in both Halton and Peel.  They really demonstrate how good people come together in the spirit of Christmas and giving,” said Sandhu.

The seniors’ group consists of community members in both regions, who are extremely active in their respective communities.

Each bag contained gloves, socks, winter sweater, pyjamas, winter hat, toothbrush, toothpaste, sanitizer, liquid soap, wipes, body lotion and reusable masks.

Sandhu said: “A special thanks goes to both SafetyNet for opening their bay doors for our donation and to the Seniors who helped to raise over $12,000 in support of this initiative.  They not only donated to SafetyNet, but also distributed over 400 bags all over the GTA.”
