One killed, another injured in North Vancouver shooting (follow-up)

ON Wednesday at around 10:45 p.m., North Vancouver RCMP received a report of multiple shots fired in the area of the rear lane of the 200-block of East 17th Street in North Vancouver. When officers arrived, they found two adult victims suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims was transported to hospital. Despite all efforts to revive the other person, they succumbed to their injuries.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is now conducting the investigation in partnership with North Vancouver RCMP.

Based on the investigative theory in this initial phase, police said this does not appear to be a random act. The area surrounding the scene will be cordoned off for a significant amount of time.
