ONTARIO: Auto theft investigation leads to firearm, arrest of Tajinder Dhillon of Brampton and one other

ONTARIO’S Peel Regional Police investigators from the 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau, Auto Theft Unit, have arrested two men in relation to ongoing vehicle thefts from hotel parking lots throughout the Region of Peel.

On Friday, October 27, investigators were in the area of Queen Street East and Gateway Drive in the City of Brampton when they located the two suspects responsible for the vehicle thefts.

The suspects were arrested, and a loaded 9mm Ruger pistol and other offence-related property were recovered.

The two individuals were charged with the following offences:

Tajinder Dhillon, a 21-year-old man from Brampton:

  • Multiple firearms-related charges
  • Possessing Automobile Master Key (13 counts)
  • Possession of Device to Obtain Unauthorized Use of Computer System
  • Possession of Counterfeit Mark
  • Obstruct Police
  • Possession of Opioid
  • Theft of Motor Vehicle (nine counts)

Mohamed Khlass, a 20-year-old man from Montreal:

  • Multiple firearms-related charges
  • Possessing Automobile Master Key (13 counts)
  • Possession of Device to Obtain Unauthorized Use of Computer System
  • Possession of Counterfeit Mark
  • Obstruct Police
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance.
  • Theft of Motor Vehicle (nine counts)

The charges for the Theft of Motor Vehicles (nine counts) relate to the theft of nine newer model American-made SUVs valued at approximately $905,000.
