ON Saturday, October 21, uniformed Peel Regional Police officers attended College Plaza in Brampton after receiving multiple calls for vehicles driving erratically within the parking lot.
While on scene, officers investigated 26-year-old Gurprit Singh from Brampton for operating a Black Jeep Wrangler in a dangerous manner within the parking lot. After a brief interaction with police, Gurprit Singh fled from the officers, accelerating recklessly through a crowded parking lot and striking a traffic sign on the way out while trying to evade his arrest.
An arrest warrant was issued for Gurprit Singh, and on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, he was taken into custody and charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, obstruct peace officer, and flight from a peace officer. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
“This investigation highlights the dedication that our officers have toward tracking down drivers who endanger the safety of our community. Those who try to flee from our officers will face the full extent of our investigative efforts and will be located. We will not stop until we find you,” said Deputy Chief Marc Andrews.
