ONE of the world’s leading phone companies is all set to make a stunning announcement about their latest smart phone — one that can convey smells.

The mind-boggling technology allows the user to get a whiff of the smell or mix of smells around the other person.

So, if you’re wearing a particular perfume or cologne, or if you’ve had some strong smelling food, the other person will be able to figure out what that aroma is.

The phone will cost an arm and a leg initially and the company expects to sell only a limited number in the first year. But as the technology advances, the company hopes to be able to lower the costs substantially.

The announcement is expected to be made later this week in the capital of an East Asian country and is expected to cause a seismic shift in smart phone technology and use.
