INVESTIGATORS from Ontario’s Peel Regional Police Special Victims Unit have charged a religious studies tutor in relation to a sexual assault investigation.
On Monday, September 23, the accused attended the residence of the 15-year-old victim, where he allegedly sexually assaulted him.
On Saturday, September 28, police arrested and charged Abdul Qadeer Syed, a 50-year-old man from Brampton, with sexual assault and sexual interference.
He was held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
Abdul Qadeer Syed has been working as a private religious instructor for the past six years.
This investigation remains ongoing, and investigators believe there may be additional victims.
