Paton’s advocacy for non-food vendors helps their return to farmers’ markets

BC Liberal Agriculture Critic and MLA for Delta South Ian Paton said on Monday he is thrilled for B.C.’s crafters, artisans and makers who have just received word they will be permitted to return to farmers’ markets for the coming season.

They had been prohibited from participating due to public health orders – unlike food vendors, who were able to continue to sell their goods while employing health measures like physical distancing, hand-sanitizing and mask-wearing.

Paton had been advocating for non-food vendors to be able to do the same, along with farmers’ market representatives and community members.
