PATTULLO Bridge will be closed southbound into Surrey for one night, because of ongoing construction work for the stal̕əw̓asəm Bridge. The directional closure will take place overnight from 9 p.m. on Thursday, January 8 until 5 a.m. on Friday, January 9.

The bridge will also remain closed to pedestrians and cyclists in both directions. Northbound vehicle travel into New Westminster will not be affected.

This closure is needed to secure a large overhead traffic sign for the new bridge along King George Boulevard. Heavy equipment, including a crane, will be blocking traffic lanes near the south side of the Pattullo Bridge. To ensure public safety, both southbound bridge lanes will be closed.

Those who need to use the bridge southbound are encouraged to take the Port Mann or Alex Fraser bridges as alternatives. N19 NightBus trips affected by the directional closure will be rerouted over the Alex Fraser and Queensborough bridges between New Westminster and Scott Road stations.

There will be signage to indicate all traffic pattern changes and traffic control personnel will be on-site. Rerouted drivers and transit users should plan for up to 30 minutes of additional travel time. Customers are encouraged to check Transit Alerts and use Trip Planner for more information.
