BURNABY RCMP announced on Tuesday that the 24-year-old female who was struck by a vehicle on December 17 has since died in hospital.
On December 17 at approximately 10:40 p.m., Burnaby RCMP frontline officers responded to a report of a single vehicle incident involving a pedestrian in the area of Union Street and Sperling Avenue. The female victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
The driver remained on scene and has been cooperating with the investigation. Impaired driving is not a contributing factor in the collision, police said.
Burnaby RCMP’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team is investigating the incident and is appealing for witnesses or those with dashcam footage to come forward.
