Pedestrian suffers significant life-threatening injuries in Surrey collision

SURREY RCMP are seeking information following a serious collision involving a pedestrian in Newton on Sunday evening.

On Sunday, August 28 just before 7:30 p.m., Surrey RCMP received a reported that a pedestrian, who had been crossing the street in a marked crosswalk, had been struck by a vehicle in the 7500-block of 140 Street. The pedestrian suffered significant life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital.

The Surrey RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team has taken conduct of the investigation and is working to determine the cause of the collision. The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision and additional witnesses remained on scene.

The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) attended and processed the scene, and all roads have since been re-opened.
