Peel Police looking for South Asian suspect in sexual assault

INVESTIGATORS from the Peel Regional Police Special Victims Unit are seeking the public’s assistance in relation to a sexual assault investigation in the City of Brampton.

On November 10, between 1 and 3 a.m., the female victim was in the area of Chinguacousy Road and Bovaird Drive West in the City of Brampton. A male suspect approached the victim and offered to give her a ride home.

The victim entered the vehicle and a short time later realized that she was not being driven home. The suspect drove her to a parking lot where he sexually assaulted her.

The suspect is described as male, South Asian, approximately 40 years old, with a long, black beard and wearing a turban. He spoke with an accent. 

Police are advising the public not to accept rides from individuals that they don’t know, and to be aware of their surroundings when travelling alone at night.

The suspect vehicle is a Nissan Sentra 2015-2016 maroon in colour.
