Person associated to BC Gang Conflict shot in Surrey

SURREY RCMP said on Monday that its General Investigation Unit is on scene in a residential neighborhood in South Surrey following a shooting that injured one person.

On November 27 at approximately 11:55 a.m., police received multiple reports of shots fired in the 13900-block of 18B Avenue. Police attended the area and located evidence consistent with a shooting, but no victim was located.

The victim has since been located at a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

At approximately 12:12 p.m. a vehicle was located on fire in the 17000-block of 30A Avenue. Although it is likely related to the shooting, further investigation is required to conclusively link to two incidents.

Police have secured associated scenes and are in the early evidence gathering stage of the investigations.  The shooting appears to be a targeted incident with victim being known to police and associated to the BC Gang Conflict, said Cpl. Vanessa Munn.
