Police called to New Westminster Secondary School following threat of violence

THE New Westminster Police Department responded to a 9-1-1 call on Monday, April 20 at approximately 2 p.m. that described a group of youths making threats of violence towards another person at New Westminster Secondary School. Officers immediately attended the school to locate all those involved, speak to witnesses, and collect evidence.

The police investigation into this incident is in the early stages and police are working with school administration.

“We believe this is an isolated incident between a group of people at the school,” said Sgt. Andrew Leaver. “Parents and staff may see some police presence at the school for the remainder of the day. We thank everyone for their patience and understanding.”
