Police confirm two fatalities in plane crash south of Squamish

SQUAMISH RCMP announced on Sunday that the plane crash that occurred on Friday, May 24 has been confirmed to be fatal.

On Saturday, May 25, police were able to access the remote area located south of Squamish on the west side of Howe Sound via air. Once on scene, it was confirmed that the two occupants of the plane did not survive.

The RCMP are working alongside the Transportation Safety Board and the BC Coroners Service to determine the cause of this incident. The RCMP thanked Squamish Search and Rescue, Blackcomb Helicopters and several members of the public who were integral in locating and accessing the site of the crash.

No additional details will be released at this time, police said.
