Police investigating assault in North Delta park

DELTA Police are investigating after a complaint was made just before 9 p.m. on Tuesday, July 6, regarding a man who was allegedly assaulted in a park at 81A Avenue.

The complainant advised that a man approached three males who apparently were smashing bottles in the park. An altercation occurred, with the man receiving non-life-threatening injuries. The three males fled.

Police conducted extensive patrols in the area, but could not locate the three males. Emergency Health Services attended the scene to treat the injured man.

Delta Police said on Wednesday that the investigation is ongoing, and they are aware that photos of the three males have been shared on social media.

“We’d like to assure the public that this matter is under investigation,” said Cris Leykauf, spokesperson for Delta Police. “Anyone who knows the identity of these males, or who may have witnessed the incident or events leading up to it, is asked to call 604-946-4411 and quote file 21-15496.”
