PUNJABI superstar comedian-actor Rana Ranbir was in Surrey this week to announce his latest venture “Asees” – a movie that he will be directing. He is also the scriptwriter.
The movie will be shot entirely in Punjab over 25 days in December and is expected to be released in June.
Local businessman Baldev Bath of Basant Motors (www.basantmotors.com), who is one of two financiers of the movie, was also at the press conference on Tuesday at Punjabi Banquet Hall at which Rana spoke enthusiastically of turning film director. The other financier is Lucky Sandhu.
Rana said the movie will carry a social message. He said he had been planning to wear the director’s hat for quite some time now and finally wrote a script for the movie which the common man could easily connect to. He felt that everyone would relate to the story line as it includes social causes which are faced by people on a daily basis.
