Radio India Managing Director Maninder Gill’s trial put off until April 29, 2015

 

THE trial of Radio India Managing Director Maninder Gill that began on Wednesday last week at the B.C. Supreme Court in New Westminster was put off until April 29, 2015, following an issue over recent Crown disclosure. Justice Kenneth Ball expressed his disappointment at the delay.

Surrey businessman Harjit Atwal was shot in the leg at a wedding at Surrey’s Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara on August 28, 2010.

Gill pleaded not guilty at the start of the trial to a number of charges including pointing a firearm, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm, two counts of discharging a firearm with intent to wound or disfigure, aggravated assault, possessing a prohibited or restricted firearm and unlawfully discharging a firearm.
