COQUITLAM RCMP are appealing for public assistance following an altercation that left a man with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Coquitlam RCMP frontline officers received a report of an altercation that occurred at the basketball court of Citadel Middle School located at 1265 Citadel Drive in Port Coquitlam shortly before 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 17.

The victim had been involved in an altercation with a group of young men before the assault. He was transported to hospital to be treated for his injuries.

One of the suspects is described as:

– White male
– Between 16 and 18 years old
– 5’5 to 5’7 tall
– Short, light brown, curly hair
Police are asking anyone who may have observed a group near the basketball court at Citadel Middle School around 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 17 to contact the Coquitlam RCMP.

Cpl. Alexa Hodgins said: “Due to the inclement weather at the time of the incident, there was limited foot traffic in the area, which means that this group may have stood out in the minds of the public.”
