Richmond homicide victim identified as 29-year-old “Jackie” Giang Giang Tran

THE Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) on Monday identified Sunday’s homicide victim in Richmond as 29-year old “Jackie” Giang Giang Tran of Richmond in hopes of advancing its investigation.

On September 24 at 4:52 a.m., Richmond RCMP were called to the 8000-block of Anderson Road for a report of a shooting. Police located Tran suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of first responders, the he succumbed to his injuries on scene.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken conduct of the investigation and is working closely in partnership with Richmond RCMP, BC Coroners Service and the Integrated Forensic Identification Section (IFIS).

“Our members will be working with the Richmond RCMP over the next few days to canvass the area for witnesses and for CCTV,” said IHIT Sgt. Timothy Pierotti. “We’re asking anyone with information about this incident to please contact IHIT immediately.”

IHIT is asking anyone with information or anyone who was driving or parked on Anderson Road, Cooney Road, Eckersley Road and Park Road between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. on Sunday with dash-camera video, to contact the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
