Richmond RCMP and IHIT investigating double homicide

AT approximately 8:40 p.m. on Friday, June 25, Richmond RCMP received a report of two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Richmond RCMP  frontline officers quickly flooded the area of Westminster Highway and Barnard Drive and located the two victims.

Richmond RCMP said on Saturday that they could confirm that both victims are deceased.

RCMP secured the area and requested the assistance of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team that is now on scene.

Police said that there is no concern for public safety.

Police said they are currently in the evidence gathering phase, and no further information will be provided at this time.

Media reported on Friday night that two bodies were covered with tarps on a road in a residential area at Barnard Drive and Westminster Highway. One witness said they heard about five shots being fired. There were about a dozen emergency vehicles on scene.
